About the Free Program
The Bega Valley L2P and Sanctuary Point Learner Driver Mentor Program are a community initiative designed to help young and disadvantaged people become safe and confident drivers. The free programs pairs learner drivers with trusted volunteer mentors from the community who will assist them with obtaining their required minimum 120 hours of supervised driving through an automatic car.
Additionally, the program provides 5 professional driving lessons and ongoing access to a serviced car.
About The Volunteer Mentors
All mentors must be over 21 years old and possess a full Australian driver’s licence. Mentors are required to provide their NSW driving record report and obtain both a National Police Check and a Working with Children. All mentors go through a selection and training process and commit to dedicating whatever time they can spare each week.
To be Eligible
To qualify for this free program, you must be between 16 and 24 years old facing challengers to obtain your 120 logbook hours.
You must also complete at least one complimentary “Professional Driving Lesson” offered by the Bega and Sanctuary Point L2P Learner Driver Mentor programs. The Professional Driving Instructor will determine when you are ready to move on to the volunteer program.
