
Mission Australia Cooma Specialist Homelessness Service
Provider Description
Cooma SHS supports clients across a spectrum of needs who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless by early intervention and intervention through outreach to sustain existing tenancies identied at risk; supported crisis and transitional accommodation with an emphasis on exiting the client into stable housing; provide immediate interventions and support to women and children experiencing domestic and family violence and post crisis support and follow-up to help prevent those individuals and families from becoming homeless again.
How to Access Services
Clients or other services can call our main office number (02) 64526323 to organise an intake. Referrals can be sent to the coomashs@missionaustralia.com.au inbox for actioning and intake assessments. Clients or other services can attend the office face-to-face to refer themselves or a client. Service provisions are based on client eligibility criteria – if a client meets the criteria at intake, they will be allocated a case worker and ongoing services can be provided.
Criteria For Accessing Services
Cooma Specialist Homelessness Service (SHS) eligibility criteria is – 16 years or above with or without children (i.e. cannot assist individuals under 16 if they present alone) – sexual orientation, gender, disabilities etc. all are supported in this service.
