COMMUNITY ASSIST TEAM
Southern Cross Housing Community Housing is about much more than providing accommodation. It’s also about building communities and supporting our tenants to achieve their life goals. The Communities Assist Team works with communities and residents to help them to:
- identify their own needs and aspirations
- take action to exert influence on the decisions which affect their lives
- improve the quality and sustainability of their own lives, the communities in which they live, and societies of which they are a part.
The Team does this by:
- Implementing a variety of programs and activities to empower, educate and build our residents independence
- Maintaining a community needs register and responding to identified service gaps via advocacy, innovation, and investment
- Implementing continuous quality improvement strategies to better our tenancies outcomes, and
- Identifying early intervention needs to support those who have fallen on hard times
