ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Southern Cross Housing has developed a new program that is called the I Want A Job! Forum. The forum is a safe place for residents to have their say about their struggles in the current job market, what type of support is needed to be successful in landing your next role or discuss any barriers that are hindering your employment or studies.
Our Communities Assist Team can link you to external community organisations and programs that can help you with:
- Goal Setting
- Employment advice
- Referrals to education and training
- Knowledge of requirements for working in specific industries
- Brokerage and funding for work-related items and equipment
- Referrals to support programs such as the Opportunity Pathway Program
The Opportunity Pathways Program is a NSW State Government Program that is delivered by Wesley Mission and Mission Australia. The program provides employment assistance to people that are living in Public Housing. The program is person-centered, and flexible and provides funds to support participant training that is linked to employment goals. If you are looking for work and need extra assistance, the Opportunity Pathways program might be for you.
The I Want a Job! Forums will be held periodically throughout the year. To register your interest in participating please contact the Communities Assist Team on 1300 757 885.
