The studio apartments will provide much needed safe, affordable and secure housing for tenants in need. Each accommodation unit is fully self-contained with a private entry, bathroom, laundry, kitchenette, living and bedroom zones, as well as having direct access to private outdoor space. The design provides flexibility for the provision of communal spaces and provides two fully accessible units. The communal spaces may be used for everyday living, hosting independent living skill courses or a staffing area should on-site support be required.
This allows residents to live independently and privately whilst still having the option to have onsite support. The project commenced in April 2018 at an investment of approximately $1.4 million. This project provided 4 traineeship opportunities and we are proud to say all 4 trainees completed their formal qualifications in Construction and remained in the employment of Southern Cross.
